Villa Adasa

One could be forgiven for thinking they were living in a dream world on entering Villa Adasa – an oasis of calm set amongst the swaying palms. With striking, traditional Balinese architecture stylised by the odd touch of grandeur (such as the brass handles adorning the entrance) few villas match Adasa for style; and all within a skip of the most desirable Seminyak hot-spots – Ku De Ta, Breeze at Samaya and La Lucciola -  the villa could not be more perfectly located, though you’d be foolish to assume you will want to step outside of your newfound heaven-on-earth.

Adasa translates to ‘ten’ – a nod to the perfection achieved within this magnificent space. Constructed out of the finest local materials (alang-alang, palimanan stone and teakwood), the local flavour is preserved with touches of international culture dropped in through the addition of Tibetan and Turkish throws and rugs, adding a vibrancy to the interior.

Just 200m from the famous Petitenget beach and 1km from central Seminyak, Villa Adasa is located within an exclusive gated enclave in the thriving ‘Golden Triangle’ of Bali’s south-west coast. Two restaurants within walking distance have been rated among the top 20 in Asia – Ku De Ta and Sarong – whilst there are plenty of other top-class dining options and bars for you to choose from. 

Beyond wining and dining, the area is famed for its variety of boutiques and health spas, also readily accessible on foot. If it is spiritual guidance you seek, Pura Petitenget has a deeply religious significance among the local population. Ask the villa staff if there are any events there during your stay as the temple is one of Bali’s most sacred spots and hosts numerous awe-inducing ceremonies.

If you find activities further afield, staff will be more than happy to arrange a taxi pickup or private driver to transfer you around the island.

Set across two floors, the villa is an array of vaulted ceilings and covered balconies offering an incredible sense of space and air. The traditional Balinese thatched roof that sits atop the living pavilion allows the property to ‘breath’ and mirrors the relaxed ethos of the entire villa – a wonderful mix of contemporary and antique juxtaposed in perfect harmony.

The villa is ideally designed for entertaining with poolside daybeds, an in-built music system and multiple external areas for reclining, dining and enjoying. Head indoors and sleeping arrangements are no less decadent.
